Making del.icio.us connections–via bookmarks of TeleRead and other sites
Like a TeleBlog post and want to share it with friends? Same for other faves on other sites?
Check out such services as del.icio.us, which let you post bookmarks on their sites for your use or others. It’s all a form of online community. You’ll benefit from like-minded people’s ‘ exploration of the same subject matter.
Some of the social bookmarkers will even let strangers with similar interests contact them via direct email links or pointers to their personal blogs.
The TeleBlog’s new bookmarking wrinkle
That is is old news to many TeleBlog readers, given the growing fondness of techies, newspeople and librarians for social bookmarks.
But now we have a new twist in the TeleBlog itself–an easy way to bookmark TeleBlog posts not just for del.icio.us but also other services, thanks to the Sociable plug in for WordPress.
Just click and see what happens
Just click on the appropriate icons below. If all those crazy icons are strange to you, why not just start out with the one for del.icio.us, the image to the left? Then you can go to the site’s home page to register. Yes, page-specific social bookmarks have a role in e-books, and you’ll be hearing more about that in the future.
About that green Q and the word “tags”: They’re something else–topic categories I’ve used or created within Technorati to custom-categorize posts. Yes, this is somewhat in del.icio.us territory, but in this case I’m working with the the categories as a writer-publisher rather than a reader.

well, actually, david, i happen to be working on things like that
_now_… so if you have ideas about the way things should be,
you should write a post or two on this topic right away…
