iRex as a Chinese e-book machine: What does the April 6 news release say?
So what is iRex saying in this Chinese-language news release, headlined “Cooperative agreement signed with Guangzhou KingSun Software R&D Center Co. Ltd”? I’d welcome a translation of specs, etc., if there’s anything special going on. Narada writes of “two supported formats I hadn’t seen before are listed. The Apabi seems to be a e-book reader for Chinese, what is the EBA format?” Related: Chinese iLiad being test-marked? Thanks, Narada! Can you or anyone else help us with more info?

I’ve seen the pdf doc. There is nothing special.
The Chinese edition of iLiad supports USB stick, MMC, and is CFII campatible (I don’t know if the original one can do this). Another feature that interests me most is it can do “ADVANCED SEARCH”, as the doc emphasizes. However, the detail about this fuction is not given. I hope it is like the Spotlight in Mac OS X Tiger.
The EBA format is for the special use of the ebook readers, the brand of which is Doc. Easy, produced by KingSun. BTW, the Chinese name of KingSun is Jin Chan, which means golden toad. OMG! What a disgusting name! I hate toads…

Hey, thanks, Matthew and Gongyu! I’ve reproduced almost the whole bloody thing–well, the English part, anyway. As I said, this blog has thousands of editors, aka readers! Keep up the good work. - David

Thanks David for this blog. The EBA format is useful for ebooks readers.
Nice work and keep doing like this.
