E-books on a watch: A timely Palm OS PDA from Abacus
“With the Abacus WristPDA you can read eBooks…provided you set the reader to use a BIG font…” - The Inquirer on the Abacus WristPDA.
The TeleRead take: And here you thought that e-books on an iPod would make you blind.

Correction, 2:03 p.m.: The $8.95 mentioned is for the watch cover, not the actual price of the watch. Alas, PC Mag had the info wrong. Thanks for the catch, Andre and Wes!

Truly a steal at $8.95, were it so. PC Mag’s “Buy It Here” Amazon links actually map to screen protectors for the watch, not the watch itself, which is $79.99 on Amazon. Too bad. At $9, I could overlook the dork factor and just buy it as a novelty.

That $8.95 is for a screen protector and not the watch itself…

PC Mag review is here, complete with the faulty info.
Yes, the price is indeed $79.99 from Amazon.
Thanks, folks, for the correction. This is a great example of how MSM mistakes can surface not just through the usual blog posts but also through the comment sections of blogs. I remain grateful for my thousands of potential editors–my readers! I encourage people to speak up about mistakes.

Wow, it’s actually cheaper from Amazon UK - only £38.49 ($70.29). I’m curious as to whether there are any utilities available for the Wrist PDA that let you use it as a “universal remote”, which would make it a viable replacement for my ageing Casio CMD-40.
