iRex update: $740 price for U.S. buyers, including shipping

By David Rothman

“…the first devices will be underway tomorrow [for European buyers]…US invites are being sent out because the USD payment now works without problems. The US price also dropped quite a bit since no VAT is being charged for US orders. (Pricing is around 740$ incl. shipping).” – Roland Rohde. 1. [...] The e-reader is designed for ease of use. It uses wireless internet connectivity, PC connection or flash memory to deliver content. This will allow you to have shelf loads of books to carry around with you on this easy to read device. It can be suited to the professional over to the student. Irex’s invitation came through, I logged in and tried to buy an Iliad, but the credit card processor isn’t letting me finish my order…are USA orders still not actually being filled?

  3. Hi, John. Perhaps Roland can check with iRex and enlighten us on the latest. Thanks, and keep us posted. David

Sorry for the late reply…I was away most of the day..

The US orders are working fine for mobileread users…I can’t say why you have an issue…maybe you should contact iRex directly and ask them. Visa and Mastercard users have reported no issues so far at the forums so it could be something only you are experiencing or it was a temporary error…
