Pepper Pad selling for $479 at eCost—but hurry

By David Rothman

Pepper PadDetails here. At the time I dropped by, 3:34 a.m. Eastern Time, just three units were left and the $479 offer was to expire in around 11 hours and fifty minutes. List price for Pepper Pads has been as high as $850. No, I haven’t any connection with eCost. I just think it’s a very interesting deal for those who know what they’re getting. Even the regular price of $499 is a big improvement.

Update, August 20: When I checked at 10:55 a.m. ET, the $479 price still was good, with eight Pads left.

Other hardware news: A new firmware upgrade for the iLiad (via MobileRead). Plus related hacks. One user’s reaction: “The iLiad is way cool and the 2.6 is a great improvement in page turning PDF wise.” Also, check out the new iLiad Fan blog and a video.
