Newest TeleBlog contributor: Alexandre Rafalovitch

By David Rothman

Alexandre RafalovitchThe TeleBlog’s newest contributor is Alexandre Rafalovitch, a Java guy with many language-related interests, including literary ones. Welcome, Alex!

Russian born, Alex has since lived in Australia and United States and has learned to pack light. Being a voracious reader, he learned the advantages of e-books early and is eager to explain their advantages to others.

Alex is an unashamed computer geek whose passions range from language-learning and Scottish country dancing to computational linguistics and 3D worlds. He loves sci-fi, among other genres–especially cyberpunk. Alex’s favorite Russian book is nearly anything by Sergey Lukyanenko, and his favorite English book is The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. The Primer described in The Diamond Age is his ideal e-book reader of the future. Meanwhile stay tuned for Alex’s essay on the possibilities of e-books for language-learning.

The TeleBlog is always on the lookout for new contributors, especially but not limited to those from outside the United States. E-mail me with URLs of writing samples. We actually encourage contributors to cross-post to their own blogs, so they can enjoy wider exposure without feeling as if the TeleBlog owns the material—in fact they do keep the rights.
