Palm TX E-Book Forum: Newest Addition to TeleRead

By David Rothman

Palm TX HandheldCheck out the Palm TX E-Book Forum—the latest addition to the TeleRead site.

For thrifty e-bookers, the Palm TX remains among the more interesting of the PDAs, especially now that used TXs are going for as little as $175 or so.

Bigger, sharper screen—and built-in WiFi

The TX screen is sharp and bigger than those on many handhelds, I love the WiFi, and the Web browser is up to the job of reading mobile sites like the New York Times’s or the PDA-optimized version of Bloglines.

You can even download e-books directly for such sites as Manybooks.net without messing with HotSync.

Not just for TX owners: Anyone can make TX-relevant posts

We’ll see if the interest in the TX e-book forum is there from TXers, including any volunteers who’d care to moderate. You don’t have to own a TX to participate; just keep your posts relevant to users. To counter spammers, the Akismet-protected forum requires registration, but it takes just a minute—in fact, probably less. Among the topics now included in the bbpress-based forum:

Yes, I expect that e-book-related matters will be the real focus of the forum, but the other threads are there for those wanting them.

One Response to “Palm TX E-Book Forum: Newest Addition to TeleRead”

  1. I have a question which can not be in the questions forum… because its odd.
I do not intend this to be in any way a desqcussion regarding balief structures or religiouse doctrines. Those things are your busineszs and right. As are mine, mine.
It started with a simple radio advertisement: ” That tree’s grow fruit that is just right for eating.”
I could not agree. I see thihs from the other direction. “That humanity has grown to enjoy the reproductive organs of plants.”
OK, I see its pedantic and even foolish. But the way we look at thingls is important if its the truth you are looking for. Are we being dumbed down ? I might be wrong… Not like it would be the first time. Ohit looks silly now its been said.
Elsewhere in these pages I have been party to discussions of time travel. Realising that those discussions are partly to blame for this set of strange thinking. I can not see or understand how seemingly intelligent people can think it could ever be a possible outcome. A well reasoned response will be read and eccepted as a point of view that is different to mine. Thats ecceptable. , and expected. I await a response. Weiber Seite 8174
