eReader Pro software is now free
eReader Pro, which started out life as the Palm reader, is now free—and not just as a temporary special. Kudos to Fictionwise, which says you can download it here. Get more details at SmartPhone and PocketPC.
Long term: May eReader Pro be able to render .epub natively someday! Meanwhile this software is of special interest since it lacks the device-restriction limits of competitors such as Mobipocket and Adobe.

That’s interesting. I think it’s positioning themselves nicely for when the iPhone SDK comes out and they can port over to it. Why speedbump acceptance with a fee?

A welcome move by the FW team. If they want eReader to compete, they need to make it attractive. Doesn’t it seem that they’ve also made the creator software more affordable?
I wonder if they still support a version that will work on my old Palm III xi. I’ll hurry over and check it out.
