Based primarily on Kindle owner feedback, I'm definitely waiting for Kindle 2, even if it's another year. The initial version seems to have too many warts.

I don't believe that 6% sales figure for one frikkin second. Does anyone know if that 6% is really the number of ebook editions vs print editions that amazon stocks?

I also don't believe for a frikkin second there will be a second, third or even tenth version of the Kindle.

amazon's price cut is to stimulate sales of a dog product. If such a cut was *really* feasible, I think Sony would have done it with the Reader *first*.

If, Kindle sales represent 6% of Amazon's book sales (assuming I read that right), that's a lot. Sure, Kindle was bought by early adopters and later adopters will probably read less, but 6% is a lot bigger percentage than eBooks make in the commercial book world (and I'm sure Bezos isn't counting people downloading Gutenberg books (or even Fictionwise books) on their Kindles.

The lower price is certainly making me drool. I'm trying to justify this--not there yet but trying hard.
