Blackout, smackout, who cares? Work goes on
Thanks, Paul and everyone else. Blackouts aren’t just great reading opportunities, but also proofreading opps. And that’s exactly what I did on The Solomon Scandals, via FBReader—thanks to my OLPC laptop’s fully charged battery. Best of all, without the TeleBlog tugging at me, I actually found time to rid myself of some old boxes, making the place look less like a TigerDirect warehouse.
Speaking of TigerDirect, that wide-screen Soyo 22-incher is back on sale for $199.99. I’d rather read E on the OLPC gizmo, but this monitor is good for double- or triple-page reading of e-books if you like to do so off a desktop—or you can use it for other apps, as I do.
Flawless—or at least just a pixel short
Except for one bad pixel, which I may or may not have noticed before, my Soyo is flawless. I’m still happy after a month, and other owners seem to feel the same. Nope, TigerDirect is not an advertiser, though I’m tempted to approach TD. What do you think? Tiger’s the outfit that sold the $99 Sony Readers about a year ago.
