First-line fun: Science fiction-related app from BookGlutton for Facebook

By David Rothman

From Travis Albers at BookGlutton and slightly edited:

image BookGlutton has launched a new Facebook application called Future First Lines. The application, which requires a Facebook account to use, cycles through science-fiction first lines and presents them alongside kitschy 1950’s-era graphics. Facebook members can then send the lines to each other along with a message. Users can respond, find other first lines, or link out to the BookGlutton site and read the work in its entirety.

Read about Future First Lines on Facebook. No login required.

We’ve been a bit under the radar lately, working on partnership talks, site updates and some new tools. Our Facebook app is one of the first things that we’re releasing from this work cycle. We wanted something fun - something original that creatively uses some of the public domain work we have in the catalog.
