Exactly as I thought, Robert! I just like everyone to know about affiliations---to help assess information.

Please keep those wonderful posts coming, especially now that we know you're a librarian seriously interested in e-books.

Thanks,
David

Divid,

I am not working for Irex (if fact working for the Dutch libraries), just very interested in eBook devices.

THANKS, everyone. I was thinking, "Around three feet to a meter, plus a bit more," but I didn't get to the foot stage.

Oh, well. This time I get to blame the remnants of my upper respiratory infection.

Always speak up about glitches, and yes, we do live in a metric world. I mention feet, etc., because we have many American readers, and this reduces the chances of my sinning. But that doesn't make it right. Mea culpa. I'd love to see the next U.S. president get serious about the metric system---to make it easier for me to reprogram myself.

Robert says the iRex survived "a meter" drop -- which is about three feet, not three meters. There's a big difference!

I left a reply too early. Sorry. 3-inch was wrong. 1 inch = 2.54 cm. Therefore I thought something with factor 3. This measurement confusion will never stop. ;-)

But "more then a meter" [Robert] is not "three-meter" [David Rothman]. It's more like 3-inch. ;-)
Anyway we live in a metric world.
