Periscope booklight for Kindle: A great idea

By Paul Biba

Now this looks like a really great idea. I have Mighty Bright XtraFlex 2 booklight for my Kindle, but it has a number of problems. First, it is hard to clip it securely to the Kindle, itself, and really requires that the machine be in a case. But then, second, I find that I never have it with me and am always trying to find where I left it last. It’s cheap though, only $13.69.

So this new Periscope looks great. Combine the light and the case. It uses 3 AA batteries. I just hope it isn’t too bright. Some of the booklights I’ve tried are so bright they make you squint when you look at the Kindle. It’s available for pre-order here at $49.95.

  1. I am writing in response to your article on the Periscope, the new backlight for the Amazon Kindle. I work for M-Edge Accessories and we have a product - the e-Luminator that is very similar to the Periscope but I believe is superior in function, quality and design.
