Oh, puh-leeze. They’ve been utterly failing to push the rental model since, what, 2002? Hasn’t happened yet. In fact, most of them have closed shop (and been replaced).

Incredibly badly named, but there's no regular subscription required. All purchases are one-off payments. It's also not just for Baen books anymore, either. I don't like the idea of a subscription service for ebooks. If I didn't want to own by books, I'd use library services much more. The webscription service is, of course, not a subscription service.
