Pixelar e-book reader does EPUB

By Paul Biba

V3_device_tmb.jpgThis is the Pixelar e-book reader, available in England for 220 Pounds. One wonders a bit about support from the company since they also make digital picture frames and baby monitors, but the price is good and it takes a surprising number of formats: PDF, MOBI, DOC, WOLF, MP3, HTML, TXT, CHM, FB2, Djvu, PNG, TIF, GIF, BMP, JPG, PPT, EPUB, LIT, PRC.

Can any of our British readers report on it?

  1. It’s a rebranded Hanlin eBook, judging by the picture on their site: http://snipr.com/ay480

  2. Definitely another rebranded Hanlin V3. I doubt that Pixelar ever made anything, maybe all their product is rebranded?

Which raises the question: how good will support be? Will they be able to keep up with the fairly rapid firmware developments happening on this specific hardware platform? Why not support a company like BeBook who have something of a track record in this area, and pretty good pricing.
