		<description>Excellent advice. I have often abandoned an interesting looking story because the author foolishly made it hard for me to read it. There are so many other alternatives, that I just can&#039;t spend large amounts of time catering to an author&#039;s quirks or ignorance. I think it was John Scalzi who wrote the problem for most authors isn&#039;t piracy, it&#039;s getting noticed.

		<description>So true. About 1), I would add that running my writing through MS Word is a good way to catch those subtle typographical errors.  (I compose on a text editor). Every writer should do that.
