E-book about ebooks from Zorba Press

By Paul Biba

50ben-cov400x647.jpgThis sounds like something that the public really could use. I hope that Zorba can distribute it in a way to make a bit of a difference. I picked up the following from Epublishers Weekly:

50 Benefits of Ebooks: A Thinking Person’s Introduction to the Digital Reading Revolution, Where Ebooks Are Low-Cost or Free.

We are hoping to release this book during “Read An Ebook Week”, March 8 to March 14. The book will be published simultaneously as a pocket-sized paperback, 204 pages, for $ 18; and an ebook for one dollar. The ebook will be available in two formats: PDF and ePub. The ebook editions will contain all the same content as the paperback — except the paper.

In addition to the 50 Benefits, the book contains essays about the value of reading, and additional chapters of ebook-related resources.

Reminds me of another book about cutting edge technology which I bought, used, from Amazon for $1. It is called The Silicon Jungle, and discusses such things as how the “… electronic superbrains … can instantaneously zip messages across continents….” ; written in 1985 by someone named David Rothman.

  1. This sounds like something that should be free.

  2. For $1, it nearly is free.

  3. Yes, but that’s still not free. If you want to convince someone that ebooks are a good idea, this should be as easy to get as possible. 200 pages is overkill too.
