I spent only a few hours trying to use the OLPC as a reader, and I was very disappointed. The device is very large, deceptively heavy, and, worst of all, the software didn't disable the mouse buttons in tablet mode (meaning that the page would change with the slightest squeeze). Combined with a lack of WPA support for wireless, my OLPC just gathers dust. I would fix it if I cared more, but, meh.

All I really want is a netbook that works in tablet mode. The OLPC has a number of nice features for e-book reading, but a cheap, light netbook with a couple of buttons alongside the display would be far superior.
