New BeBook e-reader offers 3g WiFi, touch screen and ePub: March 6 unveiling at Cebit

By David Rothman

Tweet from the company. March 6 unveiling at Cebit. Also see press release. The details are in line with reports from several weeks ago. Price of the current BeBook, an E Ink e-reader. is $280. Will Adobe DRM will be available. The press release reads, "The ePub DRM standard will also be implemented within the next few months." Another case of confusing Adobe proprietary tech with generic ePub stuff? Or is the IDPF up to something?

  1. Hmm, wonder if this is the much delayed Jinke V9t with custom developed firmware. Hope so, because this means that other retailers will pick this up, and hopefully OpenInkPot will look at this device as a target for development.
