Vicki, as I've said before, there's no reason there can't be two pricing levels for content. One would be the higher-priced version without ads that we see today. The other would be a lower-priced version with ads. Customers could choose, so you could pay more for ad-free and I can pay less and live with some ads. What's the harm in offering this choice?

Joe Wikert said “I’m here to tell you I’ve seen a color display and it was very attractive. The colors were a little washed out but the clarity was excellent.”

An April 17th article at Engadget discusses Bridgestone's new 13-inch color e-paper display prototype that handles pen input. The unit is based on a technology identified as QR-LPD (Quick Response Liquid Powder Display). The article includes pictures and a video of the color display but the depiction is not flattering or well illuminated.

> I’d like to see Amazon enable ad support so that
> publishers/authors will have a new way to monetize
> their content.

Publishers and (some) authors will love it. Clearly it hasn't occured to him that ~readers~ won't love it.

He may not mind reading a book with a flashing animated ad on every page. Me? Not so much.
