The only other digital magazines I know of are put out independently, and reformatted for the web (which, to me, makes sense... d-mags do not have to look or be organized like their print counterparts).

Are there other d-magazines distributors of note? Are any working with libraries to provide digital magazines? As more of the print magazine go digital only, libraries will be more interested in providing this service without the pain of working with individual publishers for each magazine. We use a d-mag distributor for our Chinese magazines but I haven't seen a similar service for English. Thanks.

Agreed. That's why I was so glad to see I could do the rotate and alleviate the problem with magazine pages. But for newspaper pages, it's still not enough... that material just needs to be reorganized for a browser, plain and simple.

Porting that into the iPhone would just bring scrolling back, with a vengeance. I know I wouldn't consider it a great way to read that kind of content, but it seems to work for some people (which is why I posted it here).

I want to love Zinio, I really do. I would happily ditch my New Yorker paper subscription for an electronic one. But a layout that works so well on paper doesn't work so well on my laptop, let alone my iphone. The scrolling around drives me nuts...
