		<description>Personally, I&#039;d slightly edit Bill&#039;s idea of essential things to be: &quot;A unified format for all devices, and a bookstore.&quot;  If Amazon had sold e-books in a common format like Mobi (or LIT, or whatever), with the same media push but with the Kindle as an option, I believe The Kindle Store would be even more successful than it has been to date... tying the service to a single expensive device, limited in availability and tied to only one distributor, only served to slow Amazon&#039;s potential e-book progress.

Still, I bow deeply to the man responsible for ClearType, and I hope he continues to exert influence and direction on the e-book field.</description>
