‘Little Dorrit’ enjoyed via the Kindle and otherwise: ‘On the Media’ follows up with Ann Kirschner
TeleRead book reviewer Court Merrigan loved reading Little Dorrit recently on his Kindle.
So how does the Kindle version compare with the same Dickens masterpiece as read via a p-book, audio book and iPhone? Check out an On the Media segment. The iPhone, by the way, fared pretty well. For example, you can always carry it with you (easier for many people than with a Kindle).
Paul pointed earlier to these results as conveyed in in text, but OTM’s audio interview with Ann Kirschner is still worth listening to—if nothing else, then for her conjecture on Dickens as an audiobook narrator, based on his lectures in actual life. “Dickens performed his books. He’d love the audiobook format. He stood in front of a stage and brought people to tears—reading his books…Can you imagine to have a recording of Dickens reading Little Dorrit? It would be amazing.”
