I can certainly respect someone I dont' agree with - since I've yet to find anyone I'm in total agreement with on everything, that's a good thing, or else I'd respect no one.

Ray Bradbury is a treasure. So what if he doesn't like the internet or ebooks? Doesn't taint either his writing or his character.

Actually, since the "average citizen" seems to be able to afford a cellphone, that means they can read e-books. As many people overseas will quickly attest, you don't need big, expensive dedicated readers to read e-books, and many of them are perfectly happy doing their reading on smaller devices (I use a PDA exclusively).

To those people, you start by selling them on the idea of e-books... not hardware... and let them decide later whether or not they want to spend their money on dedicated devices.

I agree on giving Ray Bradbury a pass for his hatred of the internet and ebooks. Given his age and iconic status in the literary world, he deserves the respect he's due.

If only the technology was afforable to the average citizen, then electronic books would sell much better. The products out there however are too expensive, and not flashy enough. People don't feel like they need ebook reading devices yet, and until they do they won't purchase them.
