Motorcycles have a lot in common with e-books, actually... offering a cheaper, practical, (sometimes) cleaner and (usually) more efficient alternative to autos, and in many configurations to suit the user, ably demonstrate a different way to do the same old thing, namely, getting from here to there.

If you can appreciate one, you can probably appreciate the other.

(They still have DRM, though... keys and motorcyclist's licenses...)

That's a pretty sweet ride, Paul! What really struck me,however, was your description of your best ride ever. Really sounds like a dream. There's something magical about the open road that beckons a lot of people.

I had an assortment of motorbikes until my mid 30's (when arthritis started to get worse). These days I cannot go past a really nice bike without getting all sentimental!
I must say I never had a stereo on any of mine! But cruising on Australia's roads is not quite like USA's freeways. Some major roads down the east coast are OK, but go inland and it's a different story. And long, long stretches between towns can be tricky with fuel usage.
