By David Rothman

Yep, this-here Apple tablet rumor is getting old.

The newest twist from 9to5Mac is: The color Apple tablet will supposedly go on sale by Christmas, after a September launch.

If so, never mind that early 2010 rumor from AppleInsider.

Screen size, based on the 9to5Mac pickup from the Financial Times, is still said to be around ten inches.

What’s more, book publishers eager for a Kindle alternative are said to be in talks with Apple.

  1. It would be amusing if, after the music publishers tried to diminish Apple’s domination of music downloads by allowing Amazon to have DRM-free music downloads, the book publishers tried to diminish Amazon’s domination of book downloads by allowing Apple to have DRM-free book downloads.

The sooner the better as far as I’m concerned. DRM on media for sale doesn’t help anyone except DRM suppliers.
