Review: M-Edge eLuminator 2
By Paul Biba
This is a product I’ve been waiting for with bated breath. When I saw it finally announced I immediately bought it at $19.95. It is a great and wonderful addition to the M-Edge series of cases I’ve written about in the past. (For a complete catalog of my case reviews see the end of the Periscope review here.)

The eLuminator takes one AAA battery and the thin lip slips into a holder that is present on all M-Edge cases. In addition the flexible neck, the light rotates about the lip so you can set it in an infinite number of positions.

Here you see it in use with a case. The light has 2 brightness levels and the illumination is cool and even.

Here is how it rests in my Platform case.

Finally, you carry it around by simply rotating it down and it lies flat next to the Kindle. Having a booklight available at all times is a wonderful thing. The Periscope case I reviewed earlier also provides this ability, but I prefer the thinner profile of the M-Edge. Note that the eLuminator is custom made for M-Edge cases, so if you have another case you’ll have to jury-rig a fittment. You can find it here.

thanks for reviewing! i’d been *wondering* whether anyone had actually received theirs yet. i ordered the instant i received the e-mail announcement, and mine’s not due to arrive until probably tomorrow. i am totally psyched. been waiting for the launch for ages. (although in the meantime i’ve learned that i mostly read when it’s light out…) heck. my platform cover took 3 weeks to arrive.

Very disappointed. The first time I used the light, it kept blacking out whenever I moved the head to a different position. I thought maybe the battery lid wasn’t on tight enough, but nothing has worked. I’m returning it and hoping that the problems I was experiencing was an anomaly. We’ll see…
