Sony Reader comes to The Netherlands

Some interesting news for the site. Yesterday Bol.com organized a big media event with Sony to announce their e-reading innitiative.

Some highlights from the event:

  1. I’m an European citizen and I find at least outrageous that the sony will sell the new reader – as they did with the 505 – at the 1$=1€ rate! so if the prs 600 cost in us 299$, in Europe it will cost 299€ which is not exactly the same thing!!!!That’s veeery bad…

  2. I agree. And I think this is outrageous that bol will sell ebook for 20% cheaper than the hard copy!!! In Sony ebook store you pay 10 dollars for a book so it is 50% or more cheaper! I found bol really bad website for ebooks. I am not Dutch and in English they have few “old titles”. Why Sony does not give the possibility to buy the ebooks in Europe????
