10 most pirated ebooks – not what you think!

By Paul Biba

images.jpegThis list will surprise you, I think. It comes from Freakbits, which is a sister site to TorrentFreak. I don’t know where they get this information, but TorrentFreak is certainly an expert in the torrent area, so maybe we can believe them. Here is what Freakbits says:

Here’s an overview of the 10 most downloaded books on BitTorrent this year. The list shows us that illicit book downloads are not yet threatening the best selling authors you’ll find in the New York Times list.

In fact, most books that are downloaded on BitTorrent fall into the nerdy niche, are porn related – or both. All (e)books in this list were downloaded between 100.000 and 250.000 times.

For your consideration…

1. Kamasutra

2. Adobe Photoshop Secrets

3. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Amazing Sex

4. The Lost Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci

5. Solar House – A Guide for the Solar Designer

6. Before Pornography – Erotic Writing In Early Modern England

7. Twilight – Complete Series

8. How To Get Anyone To Say YES – The Science Of Influence

9. Nude Photography – The Art And The Craft

  1. Actually, the only one on that list that surprises me is #10.

  2. If Sherlock Holmes were on this case, he would be able to find these ebook pirates in minutes. Just look for people who are having great sex, taking pictures of it, and living in a solar house that needs repairs.

  3. Actually, he might do to check for people who aren’t having any sex yet… they’re obviously still studying up on it!

  4. This is funny. :) Love the list!

  5. “The Kamasutra”? “Pirated”?
    Rather unspecific and funny claim.
Which editions of this 1700 years old work?
There must be countless editions and translations which never have been under or are long out of copyright.
