50 Benefits of Ebooks – new expanded edition

By Paul Biba

50ben-sep2009cov-432x700.jpgMichael Pastore wrote to tell me about the new edition of his book which has just become available. You can find it here, where it can be downloaded in PDF format for $2, and an EPUB version will be available on September 28, followed by a paper edition on October 14. Here’s the blurb:

Written for a wide audience — from ebook newcomers to experts — in 28
chapters, the book explores 5 essential aspects of ebook reading,
writing and publishing: A. Benefits of Ebooks and Paper Books; B.
Reading Ebooks; C. Ebooks for Authors & Publishers; D. The Value of
Reading; and E. The Education of An Ebooklover. Ebook newcomers will
find all the basics here. Ebook experts can debate and debunk the
author’s wild predictions for the rosy and thorny future of ebooks, by
reading the essay, “Publishing Ebooks: Ten Tremendous Trends in 2009.”
Authors will discover tips and resources for ebook publishing. Library
professionals will enjoy the book’s glossary, Index, and links to
leading ebook sites.

One Response to “50 Benefits of Ebooks – new expanded edition”

  1. Thank you, Paul.

There is a discount (one dollar) for anyone who bought the March 2009 edition; and for all senior citizens.

The fact that an update was needed after only 6 months, instead of yearly (the original plan), is yet another bit of evidence to prove that the ebook industry is blossoming. (Those of us who follow Teleread daily already know that.)

Special thanks to Michael S. Hart, of Project Gutenberg, who wrote an inspiring Afterword for this edition.
