If your comment does not show up…

By Chris Meadows

As a reminder to posters, our comment spam filters sometimes eat your comments—we think that certain combinations of words and links can lead to this false spam tagging. If you mention advertisements or advertising, for instance, you are more likely to be tagged as spam. We try to go through our spam coffers every so often to rescue the false positives; we get several of these per day.

If you have had at least one of your posts approved in the past (so that you are off of our new-user filter) and you find that your latest one has vanished into the ether, please let us know right away. Odds are it got mistakenly tagged as spam and we’ll need to go in and rescue it for you.

If you are posting your first-ever comment, you do not need to contact us; it is simply being held for approval, and will be brought to our attention the next time one of us logs in. Subsequent comments should go through just fine—unless our system decides they are spam.
