Wattpad author signs major publishing deal

By Paul Biba

wattpad_logo_small.jpgIt looks as if social sites such as Wattpad can lead to commercial success. Wattpad writer, Abbie-Alex Stobbart, writing under the pen name Redflame, will see her ebook “The Blind Truths About Vampires, Werewolves, Witches” go into print in early 2010. The press release does not give the publisher’s name.

According to Wattpad’s figures the book was read by over 200,000 readers within 4 weeks and resulted in Wattpad organizing a cover art contest for the book. The print edition will use the winning creation by Caitlin Richardson.

  1. Everything is about vampires these days.

  2. What can you do? If people want to romanticize about monsters, I guess that’s their thing.

Maybe evil twins will come back next.
