Faster E Ink controller available – can do picture in picture

The controller is at the heart of the display of your Sony Reader, Kindle, etc. and Epson has been the prime manufacturer. Now they have announced a new, updated controller for E Ink displays. This is important because the controller sets the speed of the display, as well as the display features. According to E-Ink-Info, the new controller allows for multi-regional and concurrent display updates and for direct touch/pen drawing. Additionally is supports picture-in-picture, rotation, transparency and hardware cursor functions.
