Taiwan cashing in on ebook readers

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, Taiwanese Prime View has more than 90% of the epaper market and after it completes its acquisition of US based E Ink Corp. it will acquire key technologies in the color e-ink market. Epaper accounts for more than 50% of Prime View’s income.

Taiwanese AU Optronics, the island’s largest flat panel display maker, just bought a stake in epaper manufacturer SiPix Imaging, Inc. and a rival company, Chi Mei has just signed up with Prime View.
