Polymer Vision roll up display still alive

images.jpegAccording to Digitimes, the board of directors of Wistron has officially approved the acquisition of Polymer Vision. Wistron is continuing to focus on the development of Polymer’s rollable display. The article says they intend to take it to mass production, although they may not continue to use the Polymer Vision brand.

  1. For how many years has this been just around the corner? I love new gadgets and I love competition, but vaporware can freeze customer decisions and benefits nobody. Perhaps, with new cash, this product will finally see the light of day. Or not.

  2. I was sorry when Polymer Vision folded, (err.. so to speak) and I’m glad to see the Readius being resurrected. Sure, maybe it will still come to nothing–but without a buyer it would *certainly* have come to nothing.
