Too bad it doesn’t work. As iTunes doesn’t have a ‘none’ as a payment option.

Yes, there is a “none” option for payment method.

Okay, I see now there is a trick to this. First log out of your account and change the country to US. Then select to purchase a free application. When you sign up for an account the ‘none’ option now appears.
