IDPF Digital Book Conference to be integrated with Book Expo America

By Paul Biba

image002.jpgNow this makes a lot of sense, especially since the two are usually held fairly close together. It will also give the IDPF a much wider audience. Here’s an excerpt from the press release:

Officials at the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and BookExpo America (BEA) have today announced a partnership which will bring the highly regarded IDPF Digital Book 2010 Conference to the Javits Center during BEA, May 25 – 27, 2010. The IDPF Digital Book Conference, which has consistently been sold-out in past years, has traditionally taken place in New York image001.jpgCity a few weeks prior to BEA. The integration of the IDPF eBook educational programs and networking events with BEA will allow attendees to take full advantage of the expertise and professional knowledge that both these events provide while providing a maximum time and cost benefit. Officials note that there will be a separate fee for the Digital Book 2010 Conference that will include admission to BookExpo America. … Officials note that BEA’s New Media Zone, which will be located outside the press office on the show floor, and which will provide free Wi-Fi access to bloggers and other members of the press, will be re-named the IDPF Digital Book Zone and a specially designed stage will be built for ongoing IDPF presentations during BEA.
