Sony Reader Daily Edition: Will it matter to you if it comes out in January instead of December?

By David Rothman

image Does it matter if the Sony Daily Edition Reader comes out in January rather than December?

Will this affect your own plans? One more Nook or Kindle sale? Or are you not interested in the Daily Edition Reader in the first place? And what do you think might be the reasons for delays?

The wireless reader is now available for preorders at least.

  1. Personally I don’t care; I have my e-book reader and don’t plan to spring for a new one anytime soon.

People who are really focussed on getting a Nook particularly will probably grumble but wait. People (in the US–different availability in different countries obviously changes the game) who really want an e-book reader for Christmas and don’t care too much which one will probably get a Kindle or a Sony.

Personally if I were buying a reader for someone else, I have to admit that a promissory note for a Nook wouldn’t have the same Christmassy glitter under the tree as a reader that is actually, you know, *there*.

  2. Yes it WILL affect me. I want to give it as a Christmas gift and as any calendar will tell you, Christmas isn’t in January.
