Wattpad expands in India

Good news from Wattpad, as they have launched on Gharti Airtel. Airtel is the largest mobile operator in India with over 110M subscribers. As mobile Internet users significantly outnumber broadband users in India this dramatically expands Wattpad’s reach. I presume most of the users in India will either be on the Java or Symbian platforms.

Mobile phones as a source of literacy are something that needs more publicity. In large parts of the world there may be no clean water, but cheap cellphones are everywhere.
