Quick Note: Sony Reader Library software to be updated and other changes

By Paul Biba

Screen shot 2009-11-05 at 8.58.43 AM.pngI just got an email from Sony saying that on December 11 the Reader Library software will be upgraded to version 3.1. This will enable the library to take advantage of Epub, support the Reader Daily Edition and support Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). At the same time the eBook Store will be renamed the Reader Store and have a new address readerstore.sony.com. Epub will become available also.

  1. And still no support for customers outside of the US!!

  2. Downloaded the new reader library for my PRS505 but keeps the whole system freezes; I’ve tried contacting Sony but no joy – anyone else had a problem?

  3. I too have had endless problems with a new slimline Sony reader – Adobe books won’t move from the library onto the Reader itself. Am just reinstalling the whole lot in the hope it will rectify itself by magic, as that’s actually more likely than Sony’s helpdesk giving me answers any time soon :-)
