New Sony Reader firmware due in February ‘08—with PDF resizing

By David Rothman

sonyreaderPRS505Hooray! PDF resizing from within the Sony Reader PRS-505 will be a feature of the new firmware update due in late February. Let’s just hope that it’ll work on existing books. “There was also some talk of a future compatibility with a new Adobe book format but I didn’t know what that was,” writes a MobileReader who ran into a Sony product manager at CES. Hmm. is that .epub? And does “future compatibility” include February, or just beyond?

Other product news of interest: eReader Pro prices lowered, from Palm InfoCenter.
