jkOnTheRun: "eReader adding new titles like hotcakes’

By David Rothman

ereaderstore True? JK says so. Bob Russell isn’t so sure even though he’s also an eReader fan. Maybe Steve Pendergrast, a co-owner of eReader these days, via its purchase by  Fictionwise, can supply stats. Tip: Subscribe to eReader’s new RSS feed to learn of new titles.

Related: TeleRead piece on the Fictionwise buyout of eReader and MobileRead’s report that DRMfree eReader (.pdb) is among the new multiformat options from Fictionwise, even for books bought earlier. Great!

  1. We currently have a little over 25,000 titles on ereader.com. Under the prior owners the number was about 17,500 at the end of 2007.

We expect to hit 50,000 titles on ereader.com sometime this summer.

So yes, we are adding quite a few. And these are legit titles, not thousands of vanity press/self published titles. These are major trade publisher titles or respected independent publishers.
