‘Fieldwork’ now available from DailyLit: Another sign that RSS/e-mail books are catching on among publishers
DailyLit has released Fieldwork, by Mischa Berlinski, a 2007 National Book Awards Finalist who “has received praise from a wide range of book critics and reviewers”—including Stephen King in Entertainment Weekly. The service’s titles reach readers via RSS and email. No DRM, thankfully.
The significance here is that Farrar, Straus and Giroux, a major and rather prestigious literary publisher, is experimenting with this delivery method. Remember, part of the issue is, Will publishers mind their works being chopped up into segments? Obviously FSG doesn’t, and that’s a good sign—I believe that readers should have a variety of options to absorb literature on their terms.
For $6.95, the novel is now available in 148 installments. Part of the press release follows.
