Google ads: Pardon our dust

By David Rothman

roadworksign We’re experimenting with our Google ad setup, so some advertisements may be more intrusive than they normally would be. The real goal is to get politely sized ads showing up in our full RSS feeds to help keep the TeleBlog sustainable. Meanwhile thanks to Kevin Marshall for his suggestions.

My favorite ad policy: No ads at all. Hello, foundations?

  1. DOH - I guess I released the monster! Ah well…I can read around the ads (and maybe I’ll even click one or two from time to time for ya if they are relevant enough).

  2. Be happy, Kevin—you helped folks out beyond me. The TeleBlog is a veritable time sink, albeit a worthy one, and I’m trying hard for the right balance between insolvency and obnoxious ads.

So far the ads aren’t showing up in the feeds, although this could take time. We might be missing half or more of my readers by not having the ads in feeds, so this is no minor issue, and I thank you for reminding us of it.

As for relevance, you bet I care about that!

The best ads will lead to useful information. As I get to know Google better, I’ll do what I can to help out in that regard, and meanwhile I’ll welcome suggestions and other feedback.

    Thanks,
    David
