David, your better off with the Touch, the web browser is incredible, the Mail app is really good and the rest of the apps are comparable with what you handle on your Palm, I guess. The Palms interface won't ever match the iPod's, and it's integration and synching is seamless. It has been only 3 days since the AppStore opened up and I already have around 25-30 free apps (with lots of games and Stanza included). I already tried Stanza on the iPod and was able to download free books real smoothly from Lexcycle, and through sharing them from Desktop Stanza. You won't regret it!

Al, glad to oblige when my Touch arrives. I mainly use my TX for e-books and Web browsing, especially news reading. So on the app front, I may not be as demanding as you are. Thanks. David

Al: Pocket Informant is coming to iPhone, so there will be at least one PIM app. Don't know if it will rely on cloud instead of desktop syncing, though. My bet is cloud. Pony up for that MobileMe account, I guess.

David - How about reporting back on whether the touch can replace your T|X. I carry both the T|X and my Kindle because the Palm has many programs that I use which obviously don't run on the Kindle. Since the reliability of the Palm is not all that swift, I would like to replace it with a touch when the Palm finally dies, if it will do the same things.

I need the iPhone. It'll be a mobile blogging platform for me too. I want that camera and the BT opens the hope for a BT keyboard (well, I can kill goats in front of Apple HQ as offerings ...).

I thought about the Touch, but I *need* the iPhone.

And yeah, I can use the *phone* part of it too. (Someone just called the Finnish Tracfone I have "The National Phone of Zimbabwe," because it's *that* old and basic!)
