Luckily, my friend who also had the problem is an IT guru, so she was able to figure it out on her computer, then do the same thing to mine. Basically, she had to run a system restore (and some other stuff) from before the update was installed and now everything seems to work fine. We are still using the previous version of the eBook library software now, so download the update with caution if you have a 500! Thought I would post an update because I posted the original problem.
