Two-handed typing, other wrinkles described for a tablet Mac

By David Rothman

image image Two-handed typing and even a virtual scroll wheel are among the features that Apple might include in a tablet Mac running a full-strength OS X operating system. AppleInsider ran across helpfully illustrated company filings. Will this be a real product?

Other questions arise. How fast and accurate will the typical user be? Will he or she be able to type comfortably for any length of time, and without risking injury? At least with a regular mechanical keyboard you can rest your fingers on the keys. Oh, and will they teach gestures in high school if this approach catches on?

Yet another issue could be whether a smaller, iPoddish model could appear. Or might there be a way to run iPod-style apps through emulation?

  1. I don’t know about you, but I learned some really great gestures in school.

My Mom always got mad at me when I came home and used them, though.

  2. Hey, Chris, I almost went with that one in the actual post. Will the feds someday be able to spy on the “gestures” you use with your MacTab? Scary ;-)
