I received the following press release and thought it would be of interest to our readers:
Ingram Digital SM, an Ingram content company focused on solutions for digital content management, hosting, distribution and promotion, today announced that it is launching three collections of Information Technology (IT) titles by leading IT publisher IGI Global on the MyiLibrary™ e-content aggregation platform.
The new collections are from IGI’s comprehensive InfoSci-Books™ database and cover a wide variety of themes, from business and IT alignment to electronic commerce and information systems security. The addition of the IGI Global collections contributes to make MyiLibrary’s inventory of IT-related e-content, among the richest available to libraries today.
Made up of more than 800 e-books, the IGI Global 2000-2008 collection includes computer science and information technology management titles. Ingram Digital is offering a 2008 Frontlist collection as well, featuring over 200 titles to be added by the end of the year. In addition, Ingram Digital has negotiated the rights to pre-sell more than 300 titles due to be released next year as a 2009 Frontlist collection.
IGI Global publishes encyclopedias, books, journals and teaching cases authored by the leading experts in the fields of information science, technology and management. IGI Global publications are aimed at aiding IT professionals to keep up with emerging innovations, technologies and managerial techniques.
“Through the unique collaboration between IGI Global and Ingram Digital’s state-of-the-art platform, academic libraries will be able to greatly benefit from these timely, comprehensive research-based publications on core topics in computer science and Information Technology management,” said Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, President and Publisher, IGI Global.
“As research advances in computing technology, so do the related emerging opportunities, issues and challenges facing individuals, organizations and societies,” commented Rich Rosy, Vice President and General Manager of Ingram Digital Institutional Solutions. “The new IGI Global collections were created to meet library patrons’ demand for comprehensive, up-to-date reference content that addresses the full range of concepts, issues, methods, technologies and trends associated with the IT field.”
